Lip Ice: Is there a Difference?
I am always asking myself what the difference between men and the other lip stuff is. So I cured my curiosity and bought both. I chose Lipice as my test subjects because they are cheap (R18,99) and have been on the South African shelves since forever. As a side note, I never really liked Lipice much because I felt like the formula was too gunky and didn’t moisturize my lips. So it’s been a few years since I even looked at the label never mind buy it.
So the two lippies that I chose are Cranberry and Men’s Active. I like the packaging. The colours are quite bright and you can’t get confused with which lippie is what.
I used the Cranberry first for an entire day and was pleasantly suprised! The texture is very moist and smooth. It smells amazing! I loved how it kept my lips feeling moist and also they looked moist. It let a bit of a white sheen, but not too much of it that I didnt want to use it anymore. My lips felt moisturized for approximately 4 hours at a time, which meant that I didnt have to apply too much product too many times.
I used the Men's Active the next day - and needless to say, I didnt like it much. My lips were very moisturized which is awesome. But the formula was thick and guncky - reminiscient of the the old formula really. I didnt enjoy how it felt on my lips. And it also left that white SPF look on my face. But then I used it when I went for a run and BAM! it was amazing when there was sweat on my face because it didnt dry up because of the salts on my lips. I really liked that. But I still didnt like having white lips. That's not a good look even for active people. My lips were moist for a looong time, just like the other one, but I didnt want to use it again simply because it left a white sheen on my lips.
All in all, I think that Lip Ice has done a phenomenal job with their new range and hope that they stick to it. I look forward to trying all the other lip flavours because I really enjoyed the Cranberry.
Anyways lovlies, these retail at PnP, Clicks and I think Dischem as well.
Have an awesome one!
